When you are triggered, you usually have to set a boundary. Setting a boundary is typically done in one of two ways. One is by withdrawal, and the other is through anger. Both are reactive, not proactive. Setting a boundary when you are triggered is a reaction. Learning how to set boundaries healthily is knowing what you want and why. having a clear understanding of your needs and wants and presenting them in a non-shaming proactive, not a reactive way.
