Distant Memory

By October 20, 2016Poetry

Thoughts of me a distant memory

Gone the misery, as far as the eye can see

Just a shell of my false self

What is left?

A blank canvas with endless possibilities

I embrace what has been presented to me

With a slight fear, I open my soul for what you know to be the truth of me.

With an open heart and mind, I now know you have been with me all the time.

My fear has kept you hidden by my mind.

I shed the useless thoughts in my head and let my heart speak my mind.
